It is called Somadome and I guaranteed it will be your most unusual spa experience of 2016. With an illuminated dome that lowers over a reclining chair, it looks like a personal space capsule, and that’s essentially what it is: a private escape pod that lets you drift away using a combination of color therapy and binaural beat meditation.
Somadome is available at five spa properties in the U.S., and I tested it recently at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai. The 20-minute session costs $45. It is also on the menu at Cornelia Spa at the Surrey in Manhattan; at Cavallo Point in Sausalito, Carmel Valley Ranch near Big Sur, California, and outside Los Angeles at Four Seasons Westlake Village.
