A new tobacco product could become one step closer to claiming it is less risky than cigarettes.
An independent advisory committee will continue to consider whether it should recommend the Food and Drug Administration approve Philip Morris International’s modified-risk tobacco product application for iQOS, a heat-not-burn tobacco product. The meeting started Wednesday and will conclude Thursday with a suggestion from the panel.
