Voice Used as Diagnostic Biomarker for Coronary Artery Disease

Beyond Verbal, a company that provides voice analysis software, has announced that its algorithms were used successfully to help detect the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in a group of patients.

Results of a study conducted at the Mayo Clinic show that voice can be used as a biomarker for CAD, with certain sound characteristics pointing to the existence of the disease. The firm has already identified some voice biomarkers that indicate autism and Parkinson’s.
