An EHR debut under klieg lights

Two hospitals at the New York City Health & Hospitals system are expected make the switch this weekend from their decades-old electronic health records systems to new EHRs. It’s part of a $1.4 billion dollar health information technology upgrade that’s faced controversy and public scrutiny.

All systems are go, said Dr. Ramanathan Raju, president and CEO of the nation’s largest public health system, an 11-hospital integrated delivery network with more than 80 community clinics.

Raju said they are prepared to fix any problems that might arise. “We’re continuing to evaluate and monitor it.”
