The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology annually gathers data on which vendors have certified technology used by providers that are participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program. Today’s list looks at hospital data from 2016; Health Data Management will publish a separate list detailing rankings for vendors providing EHR technology to physicians.
ONC reports that, as of July 2017, 186 certified health IT vendors supply certified IT to 4,520 non-federal acute care hospitals, including critical access hospitals, participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program. While most hospitals use only one vendor to participate, a sizable percentage of facilities use technology from more than one vendor to supply their electronic records needs.
