Obama, Democrats make last push for Obamacare signups as Trump cuts ad budget

Former President Barack Obama and other high-profile Democrats are on a social media blitz to remind people to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act before the open enrollment period ends in most states on Saturday.

Signups this year are lower so far and Democrats are laying the blame on changes to the ACA, commonly known as Obamacare, enacted by President Donald Trump and Congress that took effect this year. The Trump administration also scaled back the health law’s advertising budget by 90 percent to $10 million last year, which was expected to impact enrollment.
