Major Broadcasters Ban Juul And E-Cigarette Adverts Amid Mounting Health Warnings

Topline: Leading broadcasters including CBS, Viacom and CNN are pulling adverts from Juul and other e-cigarette makers amid mounting concerns about the health risks associated with the devices and the rising number of teenagers vaping.

  • CNN owner WarnerMedia is dropping the adverts from all its networks, after CNN last week revealed to the Daily Beast that it would drop all Juul and e-cigarette ads over health warnings on the products. MTV parent firm Viacom, as well as CBS, are doing the same.
