Ethicon introduces new energy device for jaw tissue sealing

Ethicon, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, has expanded its current range of ENSEAL devices, with the launch of a new sealing device ENSEAL X1 Large for jaw tissue.

Designed to improve surgeons’ efficiency and comfort, the new device is indicated for use in open general, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic and vascular procedures such as colectomies and hysterectomies.

Equipped with the Ethicon generator’s adaptive tissue technology, the device is claimed to offer better hemostasis through less bleeding, better tissue management through less thermal spread, in addition to better ergonomics.
